Bio

Jim Harris studied at the New York institute of photography in 1979; he attended Photography school with Professional Photographers of America Association. Jim attends seminars and workshops taught by top photographers in America. Jim has been photographing weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, family and pet portraits, pregnancy and baby photography for over 25 years.

Jim is originally from Jacksonville North Carolina. His parents are both artist and musicians. His mother, Elizabeth Harris is a well-respected artist and photographer, with her own studio. Jim’s father, Albert, teaches private lessons in piano, and tends to his huge backyard garden. Both parents are piano teachers.

Jim’s passion is photography: Things are never the same, and every situation is different and needs to be assessed for those unique times for each pose, with respect for lighting from all angles. Jim loves to photograph people, watching with an “artist eye” for each individual own unique natural body language, to incorporate into his photographs. Jim loves photographing outdoors, using natural environmental settings and natural lighting. When Jim travels he never misses an opportunity to capture the natural settings that he sees, he is never without his camera.
